Although excited about a new job, I started 2012 faced with the prospect of spending the majority of the next 6 months away from home, staying in hotels and B&Bs around the South of England. Living away was going to be difficult unless I made a plan, but what to do…
Through conversations with friends I realised I should view this time away as an opportunity – to meet new people, try new things, build my confidence, get fitter.
I also realised I would be away for 26 weeks.
The natural conclusion? I planned to alphabetter myself (get it?).
I tried something new every week – sports, alternative therapies, classes, social groups… each activity starting with the next letter alphabetically.
So Week 1 = A – Aerobics, Astronomy, Acrobatics…. who knows!! (Everyone does now – it was none of these).
And I managed it! A full A-Z of activities. My 2012 efforts are all on the site, and I’ve started again for 2013. If last year was anything to go by, it should be a whole lot of fun!
